New Details Emerge Concerning the Finding of Rob and Michele Singer Reiner's Bodies
Fresh particulars have surfaced about the tragic demises of renowned film director Rob Reiner and photographer Michele Singer Reiner, whose bodies were discovered at their residence residence on Sunday.
A Initial Report
According to a report quoting a confidential source, a practitioner scheduled for an appointment was the first to notice something was wrong after being unable to gain access the home. The practitioner then contacted the couple's daughter, Romy Reiner, who lives in the vicinity.
When she went into the home, Romy discovered her father's body. Reports state she then exited the property overwhelmed with grief, not realizing at that moment that her mother's body was there as well. A companion who had accompanied her promptly called 911. Subsequently, emergency responders found Michele Singer Reiner's body.
Legal Developments
Authorities have charged the couple's 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, with the charges of first-degree murder, along with the charge related to a weapon, reportedly a knife. He is currently being held and denied bail.
Disputed Reports
The anonymous source challenged several initial details. It was stated that while Romy Reiner told emergency responders that her brother Nick lived in a separate structure on the grounds, she did not identify him as a suspect at that juncture.
The source also pushed back against circulated claims that Rob and Michele Singer Reiner had been unusually "worried" about Nick's behavior in the preceding period. Rather the family was "familiar with working through [Nick's] problems together."
This refutation includes reports of alleged "unstable" conduct by Nick at a gathering hosted by Conan O'Brien on the night before the tragedy. Although the source noted they were unable to confirm whether Rob had "rebuked" his son at the party, they maintained that reports of a "major confrontation" between the two were untrue.
Investigation Timeline
As stated by law enforcement sources, the medical examiner had not yet established at that point whether the Reiners died late on Saturday or on Sunday. Preliminary accounts indicated the condition of their bodies implied they had been deceased for some hours.
Nick Reiner was apprehended at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Sunday in the Exposition Park area, roughly 15 miles from the residence. He was scheduled to be arraigned on Tuesday, but his attorney, Alan Jackson, indicated his client had not received medical clearance and would not appear until no sooner than Wednesday.
